Hortense Cartier-Bresson is reviving the tradition of performing concertante works in salons, in a small ensemble. In the company of Pierre Fouchenneret, Julien Gernay, Pablo Schatzman, Maja Bogdanović and Eckhard Rudolph, she records the two Chopin concertos in their version for piano and string quintet. This one reveals a more intimate side of the composer. As Hortense Cartier-Bresson writes, "the strength of Chopin's music lies not in its sonic power alone, but in this very special combination of nobility, pride, heroism, and an intimacy full of charm, close to confidence, with a true poetic dimension."

Hortense Cartier-Bresson renoue avec la tradition qui consistait à faire entendre des œuvres concertantes dans les salons, en formation réduite. En compagnie de Pierre Fouchenneret, Julien Gernay, Pablo Schatzman, Maja Bogdanović et Eckhard Rudolph, elle enregistre ici les deux concertos de Chopin dans leur version pour piano et quintette à cordes. Celle-ci en révèle une facette plus intime.
